Good points, particularly the one about the future as negative and needing to protect yourself from it by future proofing.

It always seems to me that the term suggests if you do this today, you won&#039;t have to worry about it again in the future, which is daft - because the thing you are trying to protect against today probably won&#039;t be an issue in the future, or it will have morphed into something quite different.

Now if we viewed future proofing as a continuous process rather than a once off set of strategies, I might be less critical of the term.</description>
